As I've pointed out in the past, I'm not really much of a music video guy. But, I have to admit, this unique clip from Lancaster, PA's American Motors is one of those rare videos that has done its job—in a weirdly amusing manner. I certainly now feel the need to investigate their debut LP, Content (which also has fantastic, eye-catching cover art), from The Ghost is Clear Records—a label that I've raved about in the past, despite inexplicably continuing to fail to keep up with their output in a timely manner!? "A Half Finished Wall of Glass Blocks" is but one fine example of the group's somewhat subdued and atmospheric approach to noise rock through a bit of a post-punk-ish lens (recorded by J. Robbins, so you know it sounds excellent).
Asked how this entertainingly odd clip came together, vocalist/guitarist Dustin White provided the following:
To celebrate [our bassist] Brad's birth and to make content to promote Content, we paid Billy Bob's Wonderland a visit. They have one of the only remaining functioning Rock-afire Explosion bands open to the public in the world. They were originally installed at a ShowBiz Pizza that existed across the street from their current location. However, depending on when you visit, the level of "functioning" may vary. The man behind the band, Aaron Fletcher, is a bit of a wildcard and has been arguing with the owners for years and denying them parts needed to keep the band in top form. So, like most bands, some sort of drama keeps The Rock-afire Explosion from living up to their full potential. When I visit the zone of West Virginia where I grew up, I usually pop in and see how they are doing. I hadn't had the pizza in decades. It wasn't bad. Like we say in the song, "Nostalgia ain't what it used to be."

The Content LP is out now—150 on "blackberry splatter" and 150 on "spilled coffee"—through either The Ghost is Clear Records or Expert Work Records; as well as on Bandcamp (band/label). Spotify, Apple Music, and other such resources also exist, though I don't understand why you'd want to utilize them. You can also find American Motors on Instagram.
