I know very little about Black Athletes, a band that I stumbled upon a few years back via the highly recommended 24 Hours of Hardcore. From what I gather they were from San Francisco, and this track from the first Skate Rock! compilation is the only recording I can find floating around out there. They possibly released a demo called XX in 1982, but that link is the lone reference to said demo that I can locate.
"Die Laughing" follows a darker, post-punk style atypical of the rest of the compilation—certainly not what one might expect from the "skate rock" tag. There are a few other YouTube videos (here and here) that don't capture my interest nearly as much as this particular tune, but the band strikes me as an intriguing anomaly nonetheless.
