Breamgod “s/t” CD

Ahhh, more vicious, true to form metallic hardcore from Finland's finest label, Full House Records. Shockingly enough, Breamgod has been around for almost 10 years now, but I believe this self-titled full-length is their debut release beyond the demo stage, and it certainly comes across far stronger than the last demo I heard from the band several years ago. The recording could stand to be a little beefier (especially in terms of giving the bass guitar more oomph), but it sounds pretty damn good, and in terms of songwriting and performances this is yet another example of why Finland has had what I consider to be the strongest metallic hardcore scene in the fucking world for the last five or six years now. You just can't fuck with this stuff, it's got everything I look for in such an album: A relatively balanced mix, tight playing, an even blend of chugging hardcore rhythms and overt metal riffs, gruff vocals, and powerful songwriting with a good sense of energy and flow. They've got that 90's sounding metalcore approach that many of us hold dear, and they combine both the American and the European angles of that era in a manner that does sound somewhat contemporary, which is awesome. I don't know what else to say. I'm sold. Hopefully you'll like it, too...

What can I say? I totally adore the Finnish scene and am constantly stunned at how consistently they deliver crushing bands like this. Being introduced to the Full House roster was by far one of the best things to come of the nearly seven years that I've been doing this site, and I'm going to keep gushing about how awesome they are for as long as I continue, because a hell of a lot more people need to start paying attention, damnit! Pick this shit up and look into the label's back catalog while you're at it:
