I recently stumbled upon this seemingly new and relatively unknown noise project from Richmond, VA through a series of excellent tracks posted on Bandcamp and SoundCloud. The Past Desires EP posted on Bandcamp would appear to be the project's debut outing, but some of the Past Desires-labeled tracks on SoundCloud have actual song titles and suggest that a yet-to-be-finalized cassette release of the EP may be looming.
Either way, between the two sites, there's not a bad track in the bunch, and this piece provides but a mere taste of Collaring's great mix of eerily melodic dark ambient/death industrial atmospheres with occasional forays into full-on distortion and sporadic fits of menacing, power electronics-influenced vocals.
I'm curiously looking forward to hearing more...
