Flingco Sound System describes San Francisco via Florida trio Dead Meat as such:
The heft of Killdozer and Scratch Acid, the swampland shudder of Scientists, the dead-eyed stare of Joy Division, all bonded together by some piss and vinegar and delivered at high volume.
Being even marginally familiar with 3/4 of those artists, that sounds quite damn accurate to these ears, and "Fuck Amsterdam" was immediately cemented as my favorite of their songs from the very first listen—in less than two minutes of slightly noisy, sorta dark, somewhat rockin', full-on excellence.
I half-assumed Dead Meat had sort of faded away over the years, but apparently they're still playing shows, and were at one point working on new material, though I haven't found any evidence as to whether or not more recent recordings are available anywhere. If not, I certainly hope they surface one of these days.
In the meantime, Early Recordings is still available digitally, or as a free bonus download with physical copies of The King 7".
