Song of the Day: F.A.L.M., “Wretched Visions of the Night,” from A.D:C. N.T.P:B.T. (Self-Released, 2015)

"Wretched Visions of the Night" comes from Audio Documentation: Complete. Neurological Terror Preparation: Begin Transmission.—the latest four-song EP from San Antonio, TX outfit F.A.L.M. (Fear, Anger, Lies, Manipulations; Facilitating Alternate Legions of Madness; etc.).

While obviously taking huge aesthetic cues from G.I.S.M. (and well-executed, too—the artwork immediately caught my attention), F.A.L.M. is musically more akin to the core attributes of Integrity/Gehenna/Vegas and their ilk. So, expect a bashing, midpaced throb of apocalyptic metallic hardcore with an ultra raw yet effective recording that has a lot of distortion and distance to it. A few harsh noise/death industrial soundscapes are integrated as well, which is a nice touch.

The group certainly presents its work in a manner that creates intrigue, so I'll be curious to see how things develop moving forward. A handful of cassette copies remain (email [email protected] for details), or stream/purchase via Bandcamp...
