Having listened to damn near every Fury of Five track ever recorded yesterday at work (though you'd never know it from those stupid Last.fm widgets over there on the right, since they rarely work and only track like 40% of what I actually listen to), I dug out an old CD-R with this demo on it last night while I wait for my copy of the "Jersey Style" CD (on Filled With Hate Records) to come in the mail. Though, for some bizarre and unfortunate reason it appears that the best song off this demo ("I Owe You Nothing") is not even on that CD!? I'm not entirely sure since the damn tracklist seems to be under lock and key, but the one mention of the tracklist that I've found online doesn't include "I Owe You Nothing" or the tracks from the "Convicted and Condemned" 7", which makes no sense to me seeing as any Fury of Five collection CD should've included all that old rare shit, but... I guess I'll wait and see what's up when the CD arrives. Either way, this demo sounds rough (What year is this from? 1995?), but the earlier Fury of Five tracks were so fucking hard... the mosh breaks in "I Owe You Nothing" are just priceless. I had originally planned to post this demo a long time ago, but kept forgetting, so... I figured I'd waste my lunch break on it today. Have at it:
1. "I Owe You Nothing"
2. "Wipe Away the Tears"
3. "Bloodshot Eyes"
I've been spotting a few rumors floating around online lately about a potential Fury of Five reunion show of some sort. I don't really buy it, but... I'd love to see it happen if they ended up recording some new shit after the fact, that's for damn sure.
Oh, and if anyone has mp3's of any demo material from James Ismean's pre-Fury of Five bands Locked Up in Life or Position of Power, please fucking hook me up! Thanks...

The singer of this band, “Stickman,” really annoyed me. Maybe even more than Rick Ta Life!

Perhaps last.fm is missing some of your plays because your files aren’t tagged properly? I haven’t downloaded anything from here in a while, but I feel like most files weren’t fully / properly tagged. last.fm relies primarily on tags to figure out what you’re listening to.

A lot of the files (until recently) that I post aren’t tagged as specifically as my library is, but Last.fm never logs my plays because it never captures like 75% of my iPod plays. It only randomly works for a day or two here or there, then stops, then starts again, then stops, etc. It’s never worked more than three days in a row for me on the iPod plays. Bastards…

Oh fucking yeah, thanks for putting this up. I haven’t heard any of these tracks probably like never before, can’t wait to listen ‘em through tomorrow with time and thought!

I have to say Andrew that I was a bit letdown with the Jersey Style CD on Filled With Hate, I really wanted the convicted and condemned tracks on there ;( Although there are some good tunes it wasn’t quite what I expected and not worth the (very) long wait.

However, Wipe away the tears is a bit good ;)

Holy shit, thanks for putting this up. I first came across their singer when he was in Powermove (or playing with Powermove??) on the Jersey Shore in like 1991. I remember it well because he was on probation at the time and had to have cops escort him. He was in one more band prior to Fury, and even though there was some macho goofiness, the music was always tight.

fury played with integrity here in germany in 1997, and i remember that during integ´s show dwid asked ismean not to do the windmill so heavily, because there´d be noone around to see them play. talking about a potential reunion: i´d be a lot more interested to find out whether the rumours of a neglect renuion can be verified or not. if anyone has validated information about this, please let me know!

Fucking HELL, these tunes destroy so hard it’s ridiculous. Does the compilation compare to this demo at all?

Repugnant, Neglect was back together for a short time a couple years ago but according to their MySpace page: “Recently Brian got diagnosed with a nerve problem and was told he should not sing anymore, thus brings an end to the Neglect legacy!” A damn shame, indeed…
-S, that’s amazing, yet another incredible Ismean tale. I’m a firm believer that he should write an autobiography. Dude’s just a legendary character and there are so many wild stories, of which I’m sure some have been exaggerated over the years, but still… it would probably be the most interesting hardcore-related life story ever told.

Fuck. Fury Of Five is definitely my favorite tough guy hardcore band. Discovered them on their first “telling like it is” 7” , i had it in my distro at school. lol. After a couple of years i got to see them in Belgium, and had them interviewed in my fanzine, took a whole lot of sick photos that night, they were friendly people. Thanks for posting up the demo tracks. Awesome.
Rumours said that they once threatened this fake hardcore band called Deviate in Brussels, the guys from Deviate got so scared they had to hide underneath tables, pretty funny. Fuck Dveiate anyways.
