Nine Eyes is another raging metallic hardcore band from the South—this time Louisville, KY—and "Lap of the Gods" is loaded up on crushing breakdowns laced with pummeling midpaced chugs (slick panning, too) and a hint of a dissonant European metalcore edge. The authentically, seethingly pissed vocals are some of the best I've heard in a while, and work great when mixed right in the heart of the somewhat rugged recording.
Grab this song as well as their debut EP from earlier this year (which adds in some Crown of Thornz-styled melody) as name your price downloads on Bandcamp. I certainly hope more is on the way, 'cause "Lap of the Gods" is their finest track to date...
