Cleveland, OH's Nyodene D has amassed quite a hefty discography since 2008, and "Puritan" is the opening track from the dark ambient/death industrial project's latest release—a six-song cassette from the excellent Chondritic Sound label—featuring power electronics-styled vocals mixed in against rhythmic, ominously pulsing drones and simple, sustained melodies with just a touch of fierce, distorted grit.
I had burned out on noise for a good while, and it seems I've been missing out on a number of artists completely nailing the tried and true formulas—as well as those pushing the boundaries towards different creative avenues. Chondritic Sound's discography has a hell of a lot to offer, and has really been rekindling my interest as of late, so... do some digging if you're interested in such sounds.
You can now stream half of Witness to the Flood on Bandcamp, and I assume the remainder will be up soon, as the cassette edition (limited to 100 copies) has already sold out within mere weeks of its release!
