Another Friday, another catchy as hell Song of the Day for fans of grungy, emo-ish, indie-rockin'-something-or-other-whatever-the-fuck. This time from New Jersey—and I've been known to be quite a fan of all sorts of bands from the Garden State.
Again, there's a wealth of this stuff going around right now, and a lot of it's pretty damn great, too. Somewhat mind-blowing is the fact that Puddle Splasher actually formed from the ashes of powerviolence band Damaged Goods. Talk about a 180!? To go from that to this is impressive and awesome in every way, and I support such diversity completely and entirely.
Poor Planning is their debut four-song EP, and every track kicks ass. I've been spinning this thing repeatedly for the last few weeks, which doesn't tend to happen very often due to my short attention span and unquenchable thirst for constantly listening to new and different music.
Very much recommended.
Poor Planning is available now through Black Numbers, either digitally or on CD.
