The debut 7" from London's Swan Song was released a little over a year ago, but just recently came to my attention thanks to my man Markus over at Killing the Legacy. Better late than never!
I'm an out of touch old fart, so I can't be bothered with the trivia regarding what bands Swan Song may have ties to, or who's dropping guest spots or providing gang vocals. All that matters is this is some of the finest '90s-styled European metalcore I've heard in a good bit. And I'm not talking clumsy Slayer riffs or second-rate death metal blasts; no, I'm talking fierce, snarling vocals, tight riffs, badbass breakdowns, and nothing more.
Focused writing, great production, short but sweet at four tracks in about 10 minutes... this is how it should be done, folks. Take note. Oh, and P.S., the lyrics are better than average for this niche of hardcore, too:
Regret is coursing through me
If only I could take back time
It doesn't get any easier
The knowledge that age brings
Is of no comfort now...
Here's a list of distributors that are selling the 7" online, or you can download it from the band for free. They're finishing up a new record now, and I can't fuckin' wait...

I also found out about this thanks to KTL. To say this EP is top notch is probably an understatement. I’m late to this one, of course, but good call giving these dudes a song of the day selection.
